Intro
Hoxa is a fitness product designed for people who want to get stronger and move more confidently without the performance anxiety most fitness software creates. The product covers running, strength, mobility, balance, and recovery in one training loop, with a FastAPI backend and an adaptive engine that adjusts plans based on adherence, effort, and context signals while explaining its reasoning in plain language.
Problem
Most fitness products lose beginners before training becomes useful, because the product asks users to perform confidence they don't yet have. The language, design, and intensity cues are calibrated for people who already identify as athletes.
Approach
Hoxa uses a calmer tone, a multi-mode training system, and an adaptive engine that responds to real-world signals — fatigue, schedule friction, missed sessions — without making users feel they've failed. The system explains its decisions rather than hiding them.

Highlights
- Designing a multi-mode training system covering running, strength, mobility, balance, and recovery.
- Building an adaptive training engine that adjusts plans based on adherence, effort, and context signals.
- Keeping the product tone measured and non-performative to lower friction for beginner and intermediate users.
- Planning integrations with Apple Health, Apple Watch, and Garmin for richer context over time.
